About Ruple
Ruple A. Shah was born in England, but grew up near Chicago, in Flossmoor, Illinois. There, with her parents Devina and Ashvin and her younger brother Dipal, Ruple spent her childhood. She then attended college in nearby Evanston, IL at Northwestern University and medical school at University of Illinois at Chicago. After finishing one year of her internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago, Ruple moved to Rochester, Minnesota. Currently, she is doing her Neurology Residency at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester which though challenging, she is enjoying quite well. Despite this, she misses her parents, brother and Mike very much and is anxiously awaiting the big day.
About Michael
Michael John Laughlin, Jr., known to all as "Mike" was born Des Moines, Iowa and grew up with his parents Mary and Mike and older brother Rob in the nearby suburb of Urbandale. He left Iowa at eighteen when he started college at none other than Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. After college, Mike went directly to medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he is currently finishing his residency in Emergency Medicine in June 2003. Since Ruple has left, Mike has spent much of his time watching sports and working on the computer; things he know will come to end once he moves to Rochester in June '03.
About Us
Ruple and Michael met rather early- September 22nd, 1992 to be exact. We were chemistry lab partners in college (seriously!) and became not only study partners but also very close friends during our four years at Northwestern. The romantic part of our relationship, however, took off the week after college graduation on June 21st, 1996.
Since that time we have learned much about and from one another, and look forward to spending the rest of our lives, learning and loving one another. We have so many wonderful influences in our lives that have helped shaped who we are and what we are looking for in a future together. The most important thing we have in common, though coming from very different cultures, is our commitment to family and friends, and are eager to share this important day with them.
